First Stage Success: Rob is an HD 46 Nominee!

With 18 of 25 votes in the second round, Rob was one of three nominees picked by the HD 46 Democratic precinct committee persons to be presented to the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners to fill the vacant House District 46 seat. Rob's remarks focused on job creation, improving educational outcomes, better access to healthcare, environmental justice, and public safety.  The County Commissioners meet on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:00 am to decide the appointment. In Willamette Week Article, Rob Emphasizes Importance of Reaching Out to PCPs

Today, the Portland-based Willamette Week newspaper covered the HD 46 appointment process.  The article quotes Rob emphasizing the importance of getting to know the HD 46 Precinct Committee Persons and the issues the care about, as key constituents in the district: "You want to talk to the PCPs, get to know their issues, their concerns. You want to kind of get some idea of what at least part of your voting population is interested in."

Saturday Afternoon at the Belmont Street Fair!

On Saturday, Rob and family took in the fun and colorful Belmont Street Fair.  At the House District 42 Democrats booth, Rob had a chance to talk to some HD 46 residents and to visit with State Treasurer Ted Wheeler, fellow candidate Walt Nichols, and Democratic party activist T.A. Barnhart.

BIG News: Bill Bradbury Supports Rob!

Former Secretary of State Bill Bradbury joins Congressman Les AuCoin and Representative Jules Bailey in support of Rob's appointment to HD 46.  
Bradbury stated,

Rob Celebrates Labor Day at Labor Council Picnic

Rob, a proud member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), joined labor unions and local Democratic politicians at the 2011 NW Oregon Labor Council Picnic at Oaks Park today to celebrate hard work, the proud tradition of the labor movement, and Oregon's effort to hold back the wave of anti-union sentiment across the country.  Oregon needs pro-labor legislators now more than ever!
